Giant Campus and Microsoft Join Forces to Teach Technology to Youth
By host @ 5:31 PM :: 151 Views

Seattle: May 18, 2007 - Giant Campus, a recognized national leader in youth technology summer programming, announced today an agreement with Microsoft that provides leading-edge software titles to Giant Campus' summer technology program for youth - Cybercamps.

The agreement fits into Microsoft's goal to motivate students in pursuing studies and careers in science, technology, engineering, and math. It also fits into Giant Campus' focus of providing the highest quality of learning experience for youth.

This agreement is a big deal for our youth participants, says Kat Fitzgerald, Giant Campus' national director of programs and operations. It means that they have access to software that will take their learning to the level of application. It's hard to teach a class on C++ or C# and not have the software to practice on. And that's a major difference at Cybercamps compared to other computer camps; our youth get to immediately apply their learning and create their own projects.

Cybercamps offers the broadest and most sophisticated array of computer and technology courses available in a summer program, organized into three progressive tracks to suit all ability levels. Courses include game design, 3D Modeling for Games, Web Design, Graphic Design with Photoshop, Flash Animation, Computer Programming, Java Scripting, Robotics, and music and video editing - just to name a few. Students are grouped according to age level and all courses are project-based, so kids will leave with a project that they can bring home to show their parents and friends.

This summer, Cybercamps will launch in more than 60 locations nationwide and enrollments are expected to be record-setting.
