SEATTLE - March 22, 2007 - Seattle based Giant Campus, the national leader in technology education for youth, names Derek Doke vice president of sales. Among other responsibilities, Doke will focus on corporate business development and sponsorships linking into Giant Campus' strategy to increase accessibility of it's summer technology programs to all youth, regardless of economic status.
"Companies today are all too aware of the need to better educate our youth and provide them with technical and computer skills," says Pete Findley, CEO of Giant Campus. "Derek will build momentum around our corporate sponsorship program enabling them to provide today's youth with an additional outlet to explore, on a project basis, their creative and technical skills. And in typical Giant Campus fashion, those kids will have incredible fun while learning."
During the past 18 years Derek has successfully developed sales and marketing strategies for various companies including: Microsoft, Intuit, Principal Financial Group, and Deloitte and Touche. Most recently, Doke gained experience serving as a national sales director with ADP, an $8.5 billion global provider of technology and information services. Prior to ADP, he founded a professional development e-learning company focused on areas including legal and financial training.
Derek has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Central Washington University and postgraduate continuing education from both Harvard Business School and Wharton School of Business. Both Derek and his wife grew up military dependents allowing them to see different parts of the world; they now call the Seattle area home where they live with their two daughters.
