Seattle - August 2006 - In 2000, Giant Campus (then known as Cybercamps) was named Washington's Best Company to Work For in the small business category. Then in 2004, 2005, and now again in 2006, Giant Campus has won honors as a top finalist. It now has another accolade to add - winner in the Homestreet Bank's Small Business Spotlight Award program.
The program recognized five small businesses of 100 employees or less, located in the Puget Sound region, that demonstrated significant community involvement and/or are a great place to work. "The HomeStreet Bank Small Business Spotlight Awards champion small businesses that go the extra mile to be a great place to work and make a significant contribution to their community," said Joan Enticknap, president of HomeStreet Bank. "These winning businesses may be small, but their vision is large. It takes a special something for small businesses to put as much attention on the workplace and the community these five have done. We are happy to be able to help give them the recognition they deserve."
According to Homestreet Bank, "a strong team spirit, mentorship, and flexibility are important factors in Giant Campus' employee-oriented culture, and support for children and youth-related programs is prevalent in its community focus. In 2000, Cybercamps, Giant Campus' highly-regarded summer program, was named "best small company to work for" for its visionary, team-based management, generous vacation and medical programs, and inspirational mission and work environment."
"We are very pleased to receive this honor," says Pete Findley, CEO of Giant Campus. "Knowing that we continue to be recognized in this way is a huge testimony to the team of people who work here. Giant Campus really is a great place to work!"
