Accessibility of Online Courses

Consistent with our policies, Giant Campus is committed to providing curriculum that meets or exceeds national standards for accessible web-based content. Toward that end, we've implemented a number of features within our courses that fully address the technical standards outlined in Section 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1993.

Specifically, our courses are fully accessible to people with vision impairments who rely on screen reading software to translate what's on a computer screen into automated audible output. Our courses also include HTML "alt text" tags so that screen reading software can present visual content in a usable way. And as part of our course design process, we test our courses against the latest generation of screen reading software programs to ensure we are conforming to these standards.

For students with limited mobility, we've recently implemented features that allow users to navigate our course content using a computer keyboard instead of a mouse. These features represent current best practices for the development of accessible content. As we develop new courses, we will continue to incorporate new accessibility features as part of our commitment to serve all students regardless of physical ability.
